“No Logic, Corruption Guaranteed.” Kingsley Cato runs as independent candidate in Scarborough-Guildwood

BY PAUL JUNOR

Kingsley Cato is determined to make a significant difference if elected in the provincial election on Thursday, February 27th, 2025. The fact that he decided to run as an independent candidate shows his willingness to move beyond the status quo and the traditional political parties.

He is well known in the Black, African and Canadian community. He has served as president of the Ecumenical Council and Community Foundation (ECCF). It was founded as a Non-Profit Organization with a view to serve the diverse Black communities of Ontario and to encourage cross-cultural exploration, discovery, dialogue and interactions in barrier free environments. The vision of ECCF is to encourage cultural exploration, discovery and dialogue whilst working towards assisting those in our community that are at risk and struggling to achieve their life goals by offering: programming, seminars and presentations that encourage and motivate community members to greater success.

Kingsley will be running as an independent candidate in the Scarborough-Guildwood riding which is currently held by Liberal Andrea Hazell. Kingsley is married to Ann-Marie, and they have two daughters: Kylie and Kataleya. Kingsley is the senior executive of Black Idea Medical, which is a medical devices manufacturer/distributor located in Vaughn, Ontario.

Kingsley-Cato has been involved with several self-funded initiatives such as: Elite Optimum Savings Card program which helps community business growth through the card’s discount savings program, encouraging patrons to support community business, and the “National Black History Month Expo. The BHM expo is held annually to celebrate the history and contributions of Afro Canadians. It consists of:

  • National Prayer Breakfast: Community elites gather to pray for the Afro Canadian community and all Canadians
  • Success Summit: Qualified presenters share experiences and knowledge with young and young at heart community members with a goal to improve learning and build self-esteem
  • Grand Cultural Celebration Concert: It features representation from a cross section of the Afro-Canadian community

In his promotional brochure Kingsley Cato pledges to protect our children, support the idea of better schools, better healthcare, reduce property taxes, reduce inflation, stop corruption, stop war and genocide.

Kingsley placed a very high priority on spiritual values. These core beliefs are central to the way he perceives morality and spirituality. They are: “Faith, Family, Country.”

I spoke to Kingsley on Thursday, February 20th, at the All Candidate Meeting at the Jamaican Canadian Centre. He told me that he does not believe in the: New Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives and Green. He mentioned the acronym,”NLCG” which stands for ” No Logic, Corruption Guaranteed.”
