Never enough for one side
Never enough for the other,
Privileged outcast for the remainder
Of this life,
Many envy & bicker.
Been told of ‘pretty mixed privileges’
But a runt in community circles.
Never enough to have the rights to
Embrace neither cultures,
Scolded that you weren’t loyal.
Cultures & traditions are like gold,
But to pick & choose is degrading,
Diminishing the other.
Pick a side that would embrace you
Partially as if you are disposable.
One foot in, one foot out…
No one wants to claim during typhoons of
Failures.
Taking credit during seasons of Abundance,
Even if Faith was a dwindling lantern
In the timeframe of troubles.
Do the part to embrace where you
Come from,
Since it is once in a lifetime that Unprejudiced members would you
Encounter.
Modern times didn’t eliminate human
Thoughts that aren’t immune to scrutiny.
It only camouflages in a box
Of sweet nothings labeled as political
Correctness.
Self-love and knowing the worth
Is precious as perfumes & bathing
In sweet oils.
Self-acceptance without others approval
Is like scrubbing off residual words with
Cleansing clay & treated with hot stones,
Massaging affirmations without others
Words leaving bad taste,
Eliminate any detections that would make
You feel anything less than your true
Value.
You are beautiful and a representation
Of the nations that run through your veins.
Always remember.
